Conclusion

The amalgamated community of Trout Lake Cedar Cottage is on the cusp of creating a uniquely food secure neighbourhood. The creation of the TLCC Food Security Network demonstrates the desire of community residents and organizations that work in the neighbourhood to develop programming and projects that reflect community needs. While there may always be a need for short term relief of hunger, the long-term food security of TLCC will depend on capacity building projects that allow residents to access and prepare fresh, nutritious food.
