Protecting Farmland
We recognize the importance of retaining farmland as the foundation of a local sustainable food system. Rapid growth throughout BC and pressures to develop land for housing and industry have increased the number of applications to exclude land from the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR). FF/CF works together with organizations and individuals to educate members of the public, local and provincial governments, and media about the necessity of preserving land in the ALR.
